Cantlow: Has several Festival options

With much of central England under snow, Paul Webber was confined to the indoor school on Monday, but utilised his all-weather facility on Tuesday morning when one of the workers was the Cheltenham Festival-bound CANTLOW.

The JP McManus-owned gelding is set to run over hurdles at Ascot on Saturday, a ploy that will serve the purpose of getting a needed run into him ahead of the Festival, while also preserving his chase mark.

The Plumpton and Taunton winner looked in excellent form and will be a leading fancy for whatever handicap chase he tackles next month, whether it's the Byrne Group Plate, a race Webber's late father John won with Elfast, or the JLT Chase over the longer distance of three miles-plus.

RYSBRACK won well on the all-weather the other day, taking advantage of a 'jumpers' bumper' fixture that has served National Hunt trainers so well during the spell of inclement weather.

The gigantic chestnut will return to Polytrack on Thursday evening for a race at Kempton, with Graham Lee booked to ride.

Rysbrack is proving a versatile performer who will surely win over hurdles before the end of the season.

SIXTY SOMETHING scored at Aintree last October and will head to that part of the country again to contest a hurdle race at Haydock at the weekend.

The grey was another to breeze up the strip a couple of times.

Webber has done well with mares in bumpers and he sends a nice one to Fakenham later in the week in the form of SIKSIKA, who has shown promise in her work.

ALASI has taken her Kempton win over fences in her stride and remains on course for the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle at Cheltenham, a race in which she finished fourth in both 2011 and 2012.

She took the notable scalp of Champion Court last week and, according to her trainer, has never been better.
