Ferdy Murphy is planning a possible double-edged assault on the feature chase at Cheltenham next weekend and gave his protagonists DIVERS and DE BOITRON an important gallop at his West Witton base yesterday.
Divers, a former winner at the 2010 Festival, clearly relishes the task of returning to Prestbury Park judging by the way he eased past his lead horse at the top of Murphy's steep Eurotrack all-weather.
The gelding appears to have come on from his seasonal return to the fray and has also done well physically during his summer break.
DE BOITRON is a progressive handicapper and it looks as if Lucy Alexander will partner this one in the old Massey Ferguson Gold Cup.
She teamed-up with him and has gelled with De Boitron to the extent that Murphy believes the combination hold a strong each-way chance in one of the final marquee races before Christmas.
BALDING BANKER seemed in especially good form in his stretch up the strip and is definitely one to keep in mind for a handicap hurdle assignment.
GLASSON LAD looked in good order while FORMULATE moved nicely and is clearly in good heart.
The latter consistently gets into the money and deserves a change of luck if turning out for a handicap hurdle at Sedgefield next week.
