John Kenny has switched Jacks Island's attention towards the cross country events at Cheltenham later this year after he missed an outing in France earlier this month.
At the last Punchestown Festival, the 11-year-old claimed his first victory since April 2011 when striking over the banks course, and he went on to finish fifth in the same event at Le Lion d'Angers where Cheltenham maestro Balthazar King fell.
"He was going to run in the race at Craon that Balthazar King won the other week but I just ran out of time with him," said County Carlow-based Kenny.
"I was thinking of running him in Ireland this week but the ground isn't soft enough for him.
"We'll look at the two races at Cheltenham before Christmas, and if he didn't run at the November meeting there's a race for him at Punchestown on the same weekend."
