Jamie Osborne could not be happier with Field Of Dream ahead of the £150,000 Longines International Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

The seven-year-old won the race two years ago and showed he was just as effective over a mile when victorious in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot last month.

His other win in the interim came in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket last July, but Osborne decided to skip a defence of that crown as the ground turned against Field Of Dream following heavy rain.

The Lambourn handler feels missing Newmarket and heading back to Ascot with a fresh horse is a big advantage.

"He should have the fast ground he needs and now all we can do is hope for a kind draw," said Osborne.

"It may work to his advantage that the ground went soft for the Bunbury Cup which meant we just come straight for this as it gives us a little bit of extra time.

"I always think it helps him if his races are spread out as he seems to be better when fresher.

"He's in very good nick and is capable of running a big race."
