A round-up of the rest of the action from Uttoxeter where Trevor Whelan recorded a double.

Conditional jockey Trevor Whelan enjoyed a day to remember at Uttoxeter courtesy of a double from Tender Surprise and Rogue Dancer.

Tender Surprise (9-2) also supplemented victory on this track last week in a similar race when holding Yasir in the 32Red.com Selling Hurdle.

The Neil King-trained mare overcame a mistake at the final flight but fought on to keep the 11-8 favourite at bay by a neck.

"We lost all momentum at the last and completely missed it, but when the horse came to us she battled away. She's very genuine," said the successful rider.

The 3lb claimer completed his double when Rogue Dancer (3-1 favourite) was an emphatic winner of the 32Red Novices' Handicap Chase.

Lawney Hill's nine-year-old led before two out after Johnnys Legacy had made the running and bounded away from the opposition after jumping the last to come 12 lengths ahead of Big Sound.

"Two things have helped him. He had a wind op when he came to us and it did him the world of good to run in a point-to-point," said Hill's husband Alan.

"He won very well, head in chest, and it has just given him confidence. Dropping back to that lower grade of a maiden point-to-point really did help this horse."

The opening race saw Jeremy Scott saddle his fourth winner from his last six runners when The Snappy Poet clung on to take the All New 32RedSport.com Conditional Jockeys' Maiden Hurdle.

Lucky Cody ranged menacingly alongside in the closing stages, but The Snappy Poet (7-1), who had led before the third-last, would not be denied and got the verdict by a short head in the hands of Matt Griffiths.

Lucky Cody's rider Nathan Moscrop was unseated after the line but he appeared to get away unscathed.

"We were lucky the other day at Newton Abbot and we've just hung on today," Scott told At The Races.

"Usually a good run of form follows a bad run. If your horses end up well-handicapped it makes life easier.

"In fairness to this horse, he has probably run 5lb to 10lb better than I thought he was going to run. I didn't think he was well-handicapped."

Nathans Pride duly landed the odds as he repeated last week's course and distance triumph in the 32Red Casino Novices' Hurdle.

Victory was never in doubt once Richard Johnson took the 8-15 shot to the front at the fourth-last flight.

Tim Vaughan's charge pulled clear of the opposition to score by 17 lengths from jumps debutant Camachoice.

"He's not a bad jumper, it's just that he hasn't got the confidence. He was great with a lead and he just needs the experience and he's getting that at the right time of year," said the winning jockey.

"He's won his third hurdle race today. He's having the experience without having a hard time. Hopefully when the races get better he'll be up to it."

It was later confirmed that jockey Michael Byrne had been referred to the British Horseracing Authority for his ride aboard fourth-placed Barton Antix after the stewards found him guilty of intentionally failing to ensure that his horse ran on its merits.

River Purple (6-1) registered his third course success when taking the Racing Specials At 32RedSport.com Handicap Chase.

Paul Moloney brought John Mackie's seven-year-old to lead at the last and score cosily by two lengths from Lemon's Gent.

Robert Stephens' Bumble Bay (12-1) took the concluding £10 Free Bet At 32RedSport.com Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race under Tom O'Brien.
