Stepper Point is likely to be off on his travels once more, with the Prix du Gros-Chene at Chantilly on June 1 on his agenda.

William Muir's five-year-old fared best of the British raiders in the Prix de Saint-Georges at Longchamp on Sunday, when third behind Catcall.

The consistent sprinter was second in the Group Two Prix du Gros-Chene as a three-year-old and Muir favours that race over the Temple Stakes at Haydock for his next assignment.

"It was a fantastic run again," said the Lambourn handler.

"He's got a great owner because I was undecided at declaration time, but he said, 'The worst that can happen is that he gets beat', so we had a go.

"He'd only done one canter since Newmarket and he wasn't as fresh as I'd like. It also started raining but he takes the travelling so well we chanced our arm.

"He copes on soft but is better on top of the ground.

"He's lost a little weight so will have a few weeks off now before we go again.

"I think we'll go for the Gros-Chene. He was second in it as a three-year-old and I think it suits him. We could go for the Temple but it won't be both.

"If he's fit and healthy, he'll be running in the King's Stand at Ascot, I'd have thought."
