Richard Fahey guides us through his cross-country team on Saturday
It’s a busy couple of days ahead starting at Sandown on Friday where we have two runners.
Garswood reappears in the bet365 Mile. We’re very happy with him, he’s in great form and Ryan (Moore) is confident he’ll get the trip on this stiff track. It’s a competitive race but he has every chance on ground he’ll like.
Pushkin Museum came highly recommended from previous trainer Gary Moore. Marwan Koukash bought him to go to Chester but he needs to go up a few pounds to get in there so we’re starting him off in the bet365.com Handicap and he should run very well.
Our final Friday runner is Khalice in the Get Free Bets At freebets.co.uk Handicap at Doncaster. She was a bit disappointing on her reappearance and I’d hope she’d run better here but she can be a bit of a madam.
On to Saturday and were double handed in the RiponBET Yankee Maiden Auction Stakes. Realtra ran a blinder first time and did everything but win. She’s a winner without a penalty but this is a bonus race and tougher but she should go very well again. Bahamian Sunride is a homebred owned by Mel Roberts. While he’s ready to have a go, he’ll improve for the run and I’d be surprised if he beat the filly.
I’ve stuck a visor on Kyllachy Star in the 80's Music Night Here 21st June Handicap at Haydock as Paul Hanagan just felt he shirked it a little the last day. He’s in good form at home but a drop of rain would help.
Lord Aeryn is a hard horse to win with. He likes to finish placed in handicaps and the handicapper likes putting him up for it. He always has a chance though and handles Ripon which is clearly an advantage in the RiponBET Our Profits Stay In Racing Handicap.
We’ve always felt there’s a big win in Sir Reginald and with £50,000 on offer it would be nice if it came in the 25 Free Bet At corbettsports.com Handicap at Haydock.. If everything drops right for him it could do.
We’ve two again in the totescoop6 The Millionaire Maker Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Leicester. I was surprised to see money for Johnny B Goode before his debut at Beverley. He’s a nice, fun, little horse but he went walkabout that day. If he keeps a straight line here he has a chance.
Vimy Ridge is a nice colt out by American Post. He’ll win races but could just need his first run. I wouldn’t want to split my pair here.
I always say El Viento is badly handicapped but he ran well at Newbury last time and goes to Ripon for the Visit attheraces.com/punchestown Handicap. He’d need to be a 100 horse to win this, and while on his work at home I wouldn’t say he is, the handicapper assesses him on what he does on the track and I hope he’s right.
I was delighted with Gabrial’s Kaka’s victory in the Spring Cup at Newbury. I thought he’d win the Lincoln but he was too fresh and we rode him differently the last day and that seemed to work. Can he win off 101? I’d have a question mark over it but he must have a chance in the Haydock Park Handicap.
Marwan also wanted to run Brae Hill in this at his local track and the horse is an absolute star. He looks after himself, trains himself and wins when he wants.
The plan with Angel Gabrial was to try to get into the Chester Cup but we’re going the wrong way at the minute and he’s only rated 88. We hoped he’d win at Musselburgh last time and I don’t know if he didn’t stay as he looked to be coming to win but petered out. We’re trying again in the At The Races Sky 415 Handicap at Ripon and will hold onto him a bit longer.
Alquimia ran a good race on her first start for us at Redcar and had we known a bit more about her we might have been a bit more positive. We certainly will be in the Follow at HaydockRaces On Twitter Handicap.
Khelman is working like a demon at the moment, he’s in great form. There’s a big field for the Bookmaker Offers At freebets.co.uk AJA Lady Riders' Handicap at Doncaster but he’ll run well.
Back to Haydock and Gabrial The Thug who needs to step up on what he’s shown before to win the Bet On Your Mobile At corbettsports.com Handicap.
Hesketh Bank ran quite a nice race on his debut and he’ll like going up in trip for the RiponBET Forecast Maiden Stakes. I hope he’s come forward a bit from that first start.
I was a little disappointed with Imshivalla at Musselburgh first time as I thought she’d run well there. She continues in good form at home and I’d again be hoping for a bold display in the Free Bets At freebets.co.uk Fillies' Handicap at Doncaster.
Grand Beauty makes her debut in the Polypipe Maiden Stakes on the same card and is a homebred filly owned by Jaber Abdullah. She’s a good, hardy filly who would run well as she’s very tough and genuine.
Another homebred juvenile having her first start is Per Ardua in the Quicksilverslots Open After 10pm EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton. She tries very hard at home which is always an encouraging sign.
Las Verglas Star and Spirit Of The Law both run in the Casino Sign Up Bonuses At bonus.co.uk Handicap at Doncaster. I wouldn’t like to split them but both need a little help from the handicapper.
On her day Cosmic Halo is half decent, I do like her. She runs in the Online Casinos At bonus.co.uk Fillies' Handicap but I’m just a fraction worried she might need her first start of the season.
