Richard Fahey's horse-by-horse guide to his runners on Good Friday and Saturday.

I was delighted with Sandiva’s win in the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket and she’s come out of the race very well. We’ll monitor her over the next week or so but she’s earned the right to have a crack at the QIPCO 1000 Guineas and I’d like to go there.

It’s a case of back to the drawing board with Parbold following his run in the Free Handicap. I don’t know what to make of it, and I was disappointed he didn’t win. We’ll see how he is later in the week before making plans but to be competitive in a Guineas he needed to be winning on Wednesday.

His rating was about right for what he’d achieved before but I thought he’d improved past it over the winter so we’ll just let the dust settle and decide where to go.

Looking at the action on Good Friday and Mica Mika heads down to Lingfield for the coral.co.uk All-Weather Championships Apprentice Handicap. He doesn’t get many chances to run in £50,000 races so we have to have a go and he’s a consistent sort who’ll always runs his race.

Angel Gabrial is Chester Cup bound but needs to go up a few pounds to get in. He runs in the Download The totepool Live Info App Handicap and is in great form. He needs to run well here as it’s potentially his prep race for the Roodeye.

We’re double handed in the totepool Royal Mile Handicap. Roachdale House is a horse we like a lot and we think he’s well handicapped. I’m a little worried about the ground for him, he’d want a drop of rain as he wouldn’t like it too fast.

Ventura Quest can be a lazy horse but worked very well last Tuesday. In all honestly I wish I’d had another week to get him fully tuned up but this is a £50,000 prize and we’ll give it a go.

Alben Star is in great form at the moment, full of himself. Do I think he can win a race as competitive as Lingfield’s bookmakers.co.uk All-Weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes? Probably not and he has it to do on ratings but he’s in great nick right now.

Majestic Moon has done very well over the winter and is our final runner at Musselburgh in the toteexacta Pick The 1st And 2nd Handicap. He’s working well but I’m a fraction worried he might just need his first run of the season.

We’ve have six two-year-old runners so far this season and at the time of writing no winners. I’ll be disappointed if Burtonwood is beaten in the IJF 50th Anniversary Maiden Stakes at Nottingham on Saturday though.

He’s benefitted from his first start at Leicester and it would be nice to pick up a bonus here. We also run Clouds Rest who is a very nice filly ready for her debut. On what we see at home she can’t beat Burtonwood – but I’ve been surprised before.

I was a little disappointed with Skye’s The Limit on his reappearance but in hindsight it was probably a very warm race. We thought our fellow was well handicapped before the last day and he drops in grade for the New Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Handicap. He’s strong enough to carry the big weight and I’d be very hopeful over him

Finally Her Red Devil runs in the Download New Racing UK iPad App Handicap. She doesn’t show a whole heap at home but the handicapper has given her a bit of a chance, dropping her a couple of pounds since her last run at Newcastle.
