Anthony Honeyball is predicting a bold show from Oscarteea as he tries to top stablemate Regal Encore's second place in last year's Weatherbys Champion Bumper.
Regal Encore was beaten seven lengths by Briar Hill in the Cheltenham Festival Grade One last term after notching a Chepstow win and Oscarteea arrives with a similar profile.
He won the same Chepstow bumper back in October but subsequently disappointed when only fifth in a Listed bumper at Ascot in December.
However, Honeyball's team have suffered with a virus this term and Oscarteea was far too keen in the hands of Aidan Coleman that day.
The Dorset trainer told At The Races: "He's a definite runner.
"If you look at his last run, he ran with the choke out for three-quarters of the race and Aidan gave him a breather turning in and he stayed on to finish fifth. He should have been near as damn it winning that race.
"That would be a worry as mentally he didn't cope with that race, but we've done a racecourse gallop since and Aidan's worked him and hopefully he puts it together.
"If he does his job properly and gives himself a chance, then he's a very good horse. He would have a decent chance."
