Cheltenham and Aintree could beckon for Kayf Moss after his surprise victory in the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell on Sunday.

Trainer John Flint will look at the Coral Cup at Prestbury Park next month and the Sefton Novices' Hurdle on Merseyside in April for the six-year-old, who completed a hat-trick of victories in the two-and-a-half-mile Grade Two contest.

"We were very happy with him and the following day he was turned out. He'll probably go down to the beach tomorrow and the way he's going he may have to have a gallop the day after because he's come out of the race so well," said Flint.

"Rhys (Flint, son and jockey) is suspended for Cheltenham and I don't know if we'll get in the Coral Cup. We will only get a 5lb penalty so he will be on 135 and that means it will be touch and go if he got in.

"I think the handicapper is going to give us a mark of 150 plus which means that if he did get into the Coral Cup he could be very well handicapped.

"If we did go for the Coral Cup, I'd talk it over with the owners and with Rhys. Tom O'Brien has ridden the horse before and he would probably ride him if we did go to Cheltenham.

"If we didn't get in there I've been looking at the two-mile-four novice in Aintree which At Fishers Cross won last year.

"Realistically, if he did get a handicap mark of around 150 he would probably be one of the highest-rated novices, so that could be a nice option for us.

"We're only a small stable but it shows if you can get the ammunition you can compete with the big boys. This horse was someone's cast off. He came to us and we can give them one to one. If a horse is happy he will keep running for you.

"The blinkers have definitely helped bring out the improvement in him. They have made a big difference."
