Wednesday's meeting at Chepstow will have to pass an 8.30am precautionary inspection on raceday if it is to go ahead.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen reports the track heavy but raceable, although more rain is forecast.

He said: "We had a bit of rain over the weekend but we are just about raceable today.

"There's more rain forecast on Tuesday and now Wednesday, which was supposed to be drier, so we will take a look on Wednesday morning.

"Obviously we don't want a lot more rain but we will take it through to Wednesday morning and give it every chance.

"We'd be more hopeful than confident of racing."
