Officials at Wetherby have called a precautionary inspection for 8am ahead of Saturday's meeting.
The Grade Two totepool Towton Novices' Chase is the highlight of the scheduled card and the ground is currently reported to be soft, heavy in places.
However, with rain forecast for late today, clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson feels it prudent to assess conditions in the morning.
He said: "We have been dry for 48 hours now and we could have raced every day this week.
"It's just a question of what the next 24 hours will bring, really. We are forecast between 10 and 15 millimetres of rain and it's due to come from mid-afternoon to midnight.
"I think the track can take a bit more rain, but you're never too sure until it actually happens."
