Thomas Brown: Set for Newbury
Harry Fry is looking forward to saddling his smart prospect Thomas Brown at Newbury on Saturday week.
The five-year-old was an impressive winner of a bumper at the Berkshire course on his second racecourse start that Fry had previously won with the smart Oscar Rock.
The Seaborough handler has had the Listed contest on the Betfair Hurdle card in mind ever since for his well-regarded son of Sir Harry Lewis and he's looking forward to seeing him back on the track.
"We have high hopes for Thomas Brown in the listed bumper at Newbury a week on Saturday," he told his blog on StanJames.com.
"He'll love the ground conditions. He won very nicely there in November and he's progressed and improved on top of that as well so we're really looking forward to running him.
"We've held him in high regard for a long time and we hope he can continue in the rich vein of form he's in. He'll make a smashing hurdler next season before chasing the year after."
