Oliver Sherwood's seven-year-old suffered a minor setback recently but is back in full exercise now and heading for the Grade Two event, better known as the Reynoldstown.
Many Clouds was not extended to beat Donald McCain's Indian Castle by 16 lengths on his latest start at Wetherby and McCain's youngster beat Feltham winner Annacotty at Cheltenham on Saturday.
"He had a little hiccup so he missed last week, but he's back in full work again now," said Sherwood.
"Obviously the form was boosted at the weekend. We were half-hinking of a couple of other options for him but I think now the plan is very much the Reynoldstown at Ascot.
"There is a Graduation Chase at Exeter he could run in, but at the moment we're looking ahead to Ascot with him."
