Lily's Angel: Retired to stud

Group Three winner Lily's Angel has been retired from racing.

The five-year-old was a Listed winner as a juvenile when trained by Richard Fahey and transferred to the care of Irish trainer Ger Lyons midway through her three-year-old campaign.

Lily's Angel then racked up three wins in Ireland for Lyons before adding a victory in Dubai last January.

She won the Chartwell Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield last May before going on to record a string of excellent placed efforts, including second in the Group One Matron Stakes.

Lyons tweeted: "The Mitchell Family & I have decided to retire Lily's Angel to stud. She has been brilliant on the track & we wish her a happy retirement."
