Barney Clifford: Forced to abandon
Wednesday evening's card at Kempton has been abandoned due to fog.
Clerk of the course Brian Clifford conducted three inspections before finally being forced to admit defeat following a 4.40pm check.
An initial inspection at 3.10pm proved inconclusive before a second check at 4pm showed no improvement.
Clifford said: "We have given it every chance but there has been little improvement. It did improve marginally for a short while, but the fog has come down again and we have had to abandon. The judge can't see as far as is required in the conditions."
The card was due to feature the £70,000 Betdaq - Sports Betting Exchange Handicap, the final event of the London Middle Distance Series.
Clifford now expects the race to be rescheduled next week. He added: "The contingency is to stage the race at a meeting next week and there will be a further announcement in the morning."
