Emma Lavelle: Weighing up the options

Sky Bet

Trainer Emma Lavelle is weighing up a number of options for Timesremembered following his brilliant display in the Persian War Novices' Hurdle at Chepstow.

A 70,000 euro recruit from Ireland having shown up well in point-to-points and a Fairyhouse bumper, the five-year-old has wasted no time in attempting to repay his new connections.

After making every yard of the running on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter, Timesremembered took the step up to Grade Two level in his stride as he slammed some talented opponents by upwards of six lengths.

Lavelle said: "He takes versatility to a whole new level. He's won at two miles on good ground and then he won over two and a half miles on soft ground at Chepstow, so there are plenty of options for him.

"I simply don't know what his ideal ground and trip is. My gut feeling is two and a half miles on good to soft ground is perfect for him, but at the same time he shows plenty of boot in his races.

"We have the option of the two-mile novice hurdle at the next meeting at Cheltenham, but I think more likely is the Winter Novices' Hurdle at Sandown (December 6).

"The Gerry Feilden at Newbury (November 28) is another possible, so we'll just wait and see and try and pick the right race for him."
