Musical Comedy: The trainer's 201st winner
Richard Hannon broke his own record for the number of victories in a calendar year as Musical Comedy took the trainer to the 219-winner mark at Haydock.
The Marlborough maestro first broke the double century barrier in 2010 with a haul of 210 winners and the progress has continued as he managed 218 winners in both 2011 and 2012.
With over two months of the year remaining, that figure looks set to be smashed in 2013 as Musical Comedy (5-4) broke the record with an impressive all-the-way success in the ApolloBet Best Odds Guaranteed Conditions Stakes.
It was also a milestone afternoon on Merseyside for Hannon's stable jockey and son-in-law Richard Hughes.
The rider kicked off the day by scoring on Hughie Morrison's Fun Mac (100-30) in the ApolloBet Online Casino Maiden Stakes, taking him to the 200-winner mark for the year.
His 201st triumph soon followed as Hughes completed his double aboard Musical Comedy to take his tally to 196 for the British Flat season.
