Lady Cecil: Agreement with Walker
Ed Walker will train from two self-contained yards at Warren Place next year following a leasing agreement with Lady Cecil.
Walker hopes to transfer his team from his Grange House Stables on Hamilton Road before the end of the year, with his horses set to occupy the yards previously used by former Warren Place tenants Paul Howling, Ed Vaughan and Jonathan Jay.
It is understood Lady Cecil will still have more than 100 boxes for the horses under her care.
Walker told www.sirhenrycecil.com: "I am delighted and privileged to have this opportunity to train from Warren Place. It is steeped in history and perfectly located as it is isolated yet within a stone's throw of Newmarket's top-class gallops.
"It will be great for me to get back to the 'Bury Side' of Newmarket, which I am a lot more familiar with.
"I spent my first two seasons training from St Gatien at the foot of Warren Hill and prior to that I was assistant to Luca Cumani for four years. So, I am looking forward to returning to that side of Newmarket."
Lady Cecil said: "It is not the first time that we have leased yards out at Warren Place - such arrangements have worked well in the past.
"We are happy to have made this agreement with Ed and wish him the best of luck with his horses at Warren Place."
