He was stood down for a mandatory seven days by Dr Michael Turner, the British Horseracing Authority's chief medical officer, following his tumble.
He did, though, escape serious injury in the incident after his mount Arctic Lynx stumbled about three furlongs out in the Last Call From "The Croc" Handicap.
"He has suffered no ill-effects or broken bones and was lucky to walk away from it," said his agent Paul Clarke.
"However, the racecourse doctor reported him as being slightly concussed. Therefore having consulted Dr Turner, he has been stood down for a mandatory seven days and will have to have a baseline concussion test before he resumes.
"He hopes to be back the week beginning Monday the 16th. He misses the St Leger meeting as strictly speaking he won't be able to ride until next Sunday."
