Wigmore Hall: Could return to Canada
Wigmore Hall may still bid to win the Northern Dancer Stakes at Woodbine for the third year running despite a steep reduction in prize money for next month's Grade One.
Trainer Michael Bell will discuss all options for the globe-trotting six-year-old after he returned from Arlington Park, where he was fifth to Dandino in the American St Leger last weekend.
"He's very well, but I don't think he let himself down on the ground there. We'll come up with a plan sooner rather than later," said the Newmarket handler. "He may go back to Canada but they've reduced the prize money for the race.
"That is the plan at the moment but I've got to liaise with the owner. There is no travel incentive and the prize money has been slashed, so we are going through the options.
"It would be nice to get the hat-trick in the race, so it is being considered, but it might be more sensible than practical."
