Aaim To Prosper: Targeting the Cesarewitch
Aaim To Prosper, the only horse ever to win the Betfred Cesarewitch twice, is among 105 entries for the marathon handicap at Newmarket on October 12.
Brian Meehan's stayer was successful in 2010 and then again last autumn at odds of 66-1 when carrying top weight of 9st 10lb.
Trainer John Quinn has put in Countrywide Flame, who was beaten half a length into second place when sent off the 7-1 favourite last season.
Other possibles include Jonjo O'Neill's Royal Ascot winner Well Sharp and Chiberta King, who took the Queen Alexandra Stakes for Andrew Balding.
Lieutenant Miller, third behind Well Sharp in the Ascot Stakes, is being prepared for the race, according to his owner Henry Ponsonby.
"The Cesarewitch is his target and he's just having a break in the field," Ponsonby told At The Races.
There is a strong Irish presence with the likes of Domination, Notable Graudate and Ted Veale, while Smoky Hill, trained by Mikel Delzangles, is an entry from France.
