At The Races will sponsor the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster for the first time this season on September 14, for which 20 of the 76 entries are from Ireland.

Impressive Coventry Stakes scorer War Command is one of 16 entries for the Champagne Stakes from Aidan O'Brien's yard.

John Murphy is targeting the race with Captain's Affair, a Gowran maiden winner in May, beating subsequent Anglesey Stakes winner Wilshire Boulevard into fourth that day.

He has since been bought by Team Valor, who masterminded the career of Animal Kingdom.

"Captain's Affair is a big horse and he hasn't run since May as a deal was going through with the new owners who were toying with the idea of taking him to America," said Murphy.

"The change of ownership to Team Valor happened quite a time after he won at Gowran Park and while the deal was going through he couldn't run. He is now ready to go.

"The Champagne Stakes is a possible target for him. We entered him in the Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown but the ground came up too firm so plans are fluid at the moment." Murphy could also run the unraced Battle Hymn.

He said "Battle Hymn could run in the next two weeks in a maiden and then we will look ahead to the races like the Futurity Stakes and the Champagne Stakes."

John Gosden's Kingman, impressive on debut at Newmarket, Richard Hannon's July Stakes winner Anjaal, Paul Cole's hugely impressive Chesham scorer Berkshire and Richard Fahey's unbeaten Good Old Boy Lukey are others in the frame.
