Cheltenham has announced an 8am precautionary inspection for the chase and hurdles courses ahead of the third day of the Festival.

With overnight temperatures due to fall to -6C, officials at Prestbury Park are again taking no chances.

An 11am inspection had already been called to assess prospects for the Glenfarclas Handicap Chase on the cross-country track.
