John Ryan could have two runners in the JCB Triumph Hurdle in the shape of Somemothersdohavem and Masters Blazing.
The Newmarket trainer, better known for his exploits on the Flat with the likes of smart sprinter Iver Bridge Lad, has unearthed two surprise contenders for Cheltenham's juvenile championship.
Both horses earned their stripes last week with Somemothersdohavem winning a competitive heat at Doncaster and Masters Blazing scoring on his jumps debut at Ludlow.
"Both have come out of their races well and still with the main aim of going to Cheltenham," said Ryan.
"We'll have to see what everyone else does and see if we get in or not.
"The Triumph is the aim for both. They have different owners and different jockeys so there isn't an issue with that.
"That was always the plan, but it's hard enough to get one horse, there let alone two horses there.
"They do the work together at home and school together so it would be a shame to single one out for it at this moment in time."
