Neil Mulholland's stable star has won 12 of his 26 races, with five of those victories coming at the home of National Hunt racing, including this race in 2010.
It has since been upgraded from a Listed handicap and Mulholland feels that race will suit him more than the Betfair Chase at Haydock on November 24.
Midnight Chase finished third in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby on his seasonal return, having at one stage looking like he would be tailed off.
"He's come out of the race fine," said the Wiltshire handler.
"We've given him an entry in the Betfair but he might go to Cheltenham in December.
"He struggled in the ground at Wetherby.
"He looked the first beat yet he stuck on for third and was catching them at the end.
"It was a good start to the season, he hadn't run since March so he was a bit rusty.
"We know he goes well at Cheltenham because his jumping puts the others under pressure so we'll probably head there in December."
