Joshua Tree: Ready to return to Canada

Joshua Tree remains firmly on course to regain his Canadian International crown next month following a highly creditable performance at Longchamp on Sunday.

The five-year-old was victorious at Woodbine when trained by Aidan O'Brien a couple of years ago and finished second to French raider Sarah Lynx 12 months later after joining Marco Botti.

He was beaten just over a length into third in the Prix Foy behind Japanese Triple Crown winner Orfevre last weekend and Botti feels a reproduction of that effort across the Atlantic will make him hard to beat.

Tough Horse

"It was another good performance from him and he must be an extremely tough horse as he started off in Dubai during the winter and still seems to be running at his peak," said Botti.

"He keeps performing at a very high level and it was another good run on Sunday as he was coming back in trip against good horses.

"He will go back to Canada. That has been the plan for a while and we are not going to change now.

"If he can continue to run like he did on Sunday, he should go there with a very good chance.

"I know Sea Moon could be going, so you have to respect that kind of horse, but Joshua Tree is in good form and we look forward to going there with him."
