Van Ellis and Picabo were notable absentees from the six-day declarations for Saturday's William Hill Ayr Gold Cup.

The former, trained by Mark Johnston, was as low as 16-1 for the sprint handicap and second favourite with some firms while Picabo was as low as 20-1.

Gordon Lord Byron, the original top-weight with 9st 12lb, is also among the 22 horses removed on Monday along with the Richard Fahey pair of Majestic Myles and Doncaster Rover.

Lu Rei, High Standing, Dungannon, Head of Steam, Duke of Firenze, Farlow, Sacrosanctus, Gouray Girl, My Kingdom, Dr Red Eye, Even Stevens, Sir Maximilian, Jeannie Galloway, Gap's Princess, Roy's Legacy, Soopacal and Damika are the other absentees.
