John Murphy would not be worried about heading straight for the Racing Post Trophy with High Octane following his taking debut success at Gowran Park last week.

The Motivator colt ran out an impressive winner of a seven-furlong maiden in County Kilkenny in the hands of Seamie Heffernan and while he was sent off at double-figure odds, the victory was no surprise to his trainer.

While it would be a huge step up if the youngster shoots for Group One glory at Doncaster on October 27, Murphy has huge faith in his charge.

"He's a horse I've loved since the start. He's always done everything very easily and we just haven't been able to get him out because of the wet summer we've had," said Murphy.

"He's come out of the race the other day well and is back in work now. I think he's going to come on for the race in a big way.

"Seamie was delighted with him and thought he did it snug enough. He didn't have to get serious with him.

"The Racing Post Trophy is certainly a possibility as he is a horse I think an awful lot of. I think he's going to be an even better three-year-old.

"I'm not pushed to run him again before Doncaster. If something comes up in the next two or three weeks that will suit him well and the ground is right then we might consider it, but I believe he has the ability to go straight there if we want to.

"He could go for a racecourse gallop somewhere instead of having a run, so we'll see what happens with the weather.

"If it happened to come up soft or heavy at Doncaster, then we'd have to reconsider things as he does want decent ground."
