Dandino: Cumberland Lodge likely
The Grosvenor Casinos Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot is the likely next port of call for Dandino following his weekend victory at Kempton.
Following a number of good performances in defeat, the five-year-old registered his first victory since joining trainer James Fanshawe and his second Pattern-race success in all as he landed Saturday's September Stakes.
With limited options in Britain for the remainder of the season, Matthew Budden, racing manager for owners Elite Racing, is not ruling out a trip abroad for the son of Dansili.
"He's been a bit unlucky this year and bumped into one or two nice horses, so it was great to see him get his head in front again," said Budden.
"It was his first run on the all-weather and he obviously loved the surface. He seems to have come out of the race in really good form.
"We'll have a good think about where we go next, but there is not a while lot left for him in this country.
"There is the Arc Trial at Newbury, but probably the Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot is his more likely target.
"There is another race at Newbury I think and that's about it here, so we'll have to have a think and see what the weather does.
"There are a few more options abroad. We were thinking about the Melbourne Cup a while ago but that's off now as we decided not to go down that road. It would have been a hard way to end the year for him."
