Fantastic Moon: Lodge possibility

A crack at the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes is the likely next port of call for Fantastic Moon following his last-gasp success in the Solario Stakes at Sandown.

The Dalakhani colt came with a wet sail to mug Tha'ir by a head in the Group Three heat over seven furlongs last weekend.

While the Royal Lodge at Newmarket on September 29 appears the preferred target, the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on October 27 has not been ruled out for the unbeaten Jeremy Noseda-trained youngster.

"He is obviously pretty useful and we weren't surprised," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Saeed Suhail.

"We went to Sandown a little bit in the unknown but we hoped he would probably be up to Listed class anyway.

"He settled well and picked up well, as he did at Newmarket on his debut. He's going to be all right.

"We're not sure how good he is but he can only improve a bit and will stay well.

"He will probably run in either the Royal Lodge or the Racing Post Trophy.

"If he's OK in time it will more likely be the Royal Lodge because the owner doesn't want to run him on heavy ground and it may be like that come Doncaster.

"We think the stiff mile at Newmarket will suit him, but if he doesn't go for the Royal Lodge we will have a good look at the Racing Post. It will be one of those two races for him."
