Rae Guest has decided against running his promising colt Ed De Gas in the Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton on Thursday.
The Newmarket-based handler made the call after the Scottish track was hit by further rain overnight.
Ed De Gas could now be rerouted to the bet365 Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on July 31.
Guest said: "It's a long journey and the ground would be bottomless.
"We'll run him in a nice race where we can find one. He might go for the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.
"He's got plenty of options and he's a nice horse so we didn't want to run him in jumping ground."
Winner of his first three starts, Ed De Gas was third to the Queen's filly Estimate in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot on his latest outing.
Clive Cox has also decided to abort plans to run Perfect Delight in the 11-furlong contest.
"With even more rain forecast at Hamilton after the 20mm they had it seemed a little bit risky," said the Lambourn trainer.
"We'll just regroup. She has got other entries at the weekend," he said.
The three-year-old filly has options at Ascot and Newmarket on Saturday and Sunday.
