Alastair Lidderdale's stable star Calico Cat looks likely to head to the sales ring later this month.
Owned by Chris Beek, the gelding has picked up a following since he finished a highly respectable third on his racecourse debut in the Group Three Ormonde Stakes at Chester.
Connections snapped him up for just 3,200 guineas, even though he has an excellent pedigree as a son of Tiger Hill and the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Gossamer.
Calico Cat went on to win a maiden at Thirsk and finish second in a Listed race at York but was well beaten in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Lidderdale said: "We are going to put him in the July sales.
"There's been quite a lot of interest in him already as he's advertised himself well, so Chris thought we should see how much he would make.
"We can always bring him back if it doesn't work out."
