Calico Cat will be given a choice of targets for his next appearance but his connections are not rushing in to a decision on where to send their promising recruit.
The four-year-old finished an honourable third when pitched into Group Three company at Chester on his racecourse debut for Alastair Lidderdale.
The Tiger Hill gelding then dropped back to maiden company to score a first success at Thirsk in the middle of May before stepping back up the ladder to finish second in a York Listed heat at the end of the month.
Calico Cat is entered in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and the John Smith's Northumberland Plate at Newcastle, but Lidderdale has yet to confirm a target.
"We haven't made any firm decision about where we will run yet," said the Lambourn handler.
Ascot Entry
"He's got an entry at Ascot on Saturday week and also in the Northumberland Plate, but I need to speak to the owner and look at a few things before we make a decision.
"He's rated 108 now so he would be near the top in the Plate, but it remains to be seen what we will do."
Lidderdale also has Chella Thriller entered in next Thursday's Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The Chevalier filly was beaten seven lengths in a Lingfield maiden on her racecourse bow after being forced wide.
"She had a bit of a frustrating run at Lingfield last time when we hoped she'd be thereabouts," said Lidderdale.
"She's entered in the Ribblesdale but I don't know if she will run yet."
