Officials at Catterick were forced to abandon the final two races of Saturday afternoon's meeting due to unsafe conditions.
The first five races at the North Yorkshire circuit took place, but after a horse fell on pulling up after the fifth race, a course inspection was called.
Clerk of the course Fiona Needham said: "Obviously the ground is pretty quick and then we had a sharp shower which has just made the surface a little slippery on top.
"We tried spiking and sanding the course, but then the horse came down when pulling up.
"That was the only horse that had any problems all afternoon, but we decided to be cautious and abandon the final two races."
