Cavaleiro up against it

Marcus Tregoning is not expecting his Investec Derby outsider Cavaleiro to perform miracles at Epsom.
A winner of a good conditions race at Newbury last year and third on his reappearance in the Lingfield Derby Trial, the colt will be ridden by Hayley Turner next Saturday.
"He's got to raise his game quite substantially and he's a 100-1 shot but if I'd got him straighter for Lingfield I think he'd have finished a good bit closer," said Tregoning.
"He will improve, but he's still got a mountain to climb in the Derby."
The trainer has his stable in red-hot form at present, advertised by the good success of Hawaafez in last weekend's JLT Aston Park Stakes at Newbury.
"I couldn't have been more pleased with the way she had worked, it had gone really well, and I expected a huge run although I didn't think she'd win," Tregoning told Racing UK.
"It's uphill from there but I'd like to go the staying route. She's in the Gold Cup, the dam stays well, Nayef stayed well and I'd like to think she'll stay a distance and a day."
