Brendan Powell had his £3,000 fine quashed and the horse Fitandproperjob its 40-day ban lifted after a hearing by the disciplinary panel of the British Horseracing Authority.
The case revolved around a race at Chepstow on April 14 when Powell was found guilty of schooling in public by the racecourse stewards.
However, at the hearing it emerged that Powell's instructions were unable to be passed on in the parade ring to jockey Charlie Poste, who had been given a set of instructions by a part-owner and who did not contest his 14-day suspension, and the appeal was upheld.
