The jumps meeting scheduled for Uttoxeter on Thursday has been abandoned due to waterlogging.
Following an inspection of the course, officials had no other decision to make after 15.5 millimetres of rain fell on Wednesday on top of 42.5mm in the previous seven days.
"We've abandoned with a very heavy heart, but we've got standing water," said clerk of the course Charlie Moore.
"We've had 15.5 millimetres of rain today and we've got anywhere between eight and 20mm more forecast between now and 4pm tomorrow.
"Given that we've got standing water, it's not really going to get a chance to dry. It isn't safe at the moment and at this rate it isn't going to improve.
"It wasn't the most difficult decision I've had to make."
