Mandaean could head to the Betfred Dante at York after pleasing in a racecourse gallop under Frankie Dettori at Newmarket on Sunday morning.
The Godolphin-owned three-year-old travelled well and finished the workout ahead of his two Mahmood Al Zarooni stable companions.
"Mandaean needed the gallop and will be aimed at the Dante at York. If he proves good enough there, then the plan is to go for the Derby," said Al Zarooni.
Mandaean won both his starts in France last year including the Group One Criterium de Saint-Cloud when under the care of Andre Fabre.
