Godolphin's two major Newmarket hopes Lyric Of Light and Discourse will head for the Qipco 1000 Guineas without the benefit of a prep run.

The pair both feature highly on the ante-post lists, particularly as stablemate Gamilati is currently sidelined after undergoing ankle surgery.

Lyric Of Light was unbeaten in three starts for Mahmood Al Zarooni, including the the Group Two May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and Group One Fillies' Mile at Newmarket on her final two outings.

Discourse was limited to just two outings last term as a problem kept her off the track after her Sweet Solera Stakes win at Newmarket in August.

Racing manager Simon Crisford told www.godolphin.com: "I imagine both Lyric Of Light and Discourse will go straight to the Guineas.

"We will know better when they get into faster work a bit more but now is too early to make definite decisions. They are both doing well and in good form.

"Lyric Of Light had plenty of experience last year, was a course and distance winner at Newmarket and did not need to race or train out here, so she stayed in England.

"Discourse had a niggly problem after her second race which kept her off the track and, because of that, we did not move her either.

"We brought Gamilati to Dubai because we wanted to race her out here. She did very well but unfortunately has needed surgery to take a chip out of an ankle."

Discourse is a general 7-1 chance for the Guineas while Lyric Of Light is as long as 12-1 with some firms.
