Carlito Brigante: Warm-up run at Dundalk before the clash with Big Buck's
Gordon Elliott will give last year's Coral Cup hero Carlito Brigante his prep race for the Cheltenham Festival at Dundalk on Friday evening.
The six-year-old is headling for a clash with Big Buck's in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle but has only had one run over hurdles this season, disappointing at Wetherby in October.
However the trainer revealed: "He's had a breathing operation since Wetherby.
"We're running him at Dundalk because he must have nice ground - he just can't go in soft. I'm pleased that it's dried up as it looks like he should get his ground at Cheltenham.
"The plan is to run him in the World Hurdle and take on Big Buck's - this is just a pipe-opener. It's a nice place to take him."
