Evan Williams is hoping for a spell of wet weather as he prepares Oscar Gogo for a crack Saturday's Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock.

The 10-year-old won in testing conditions at Chepstow and Ffos Las during December and is now set for a step up to three miles for the first time.

Oscar Gogo is available at 12-1 with Betfred and Victor Chandler for this weekend's Merseyside feature and Williams feels that could represent good value if heavy ground prevails.

"He is close to being a definite runner and I'm looking forward to it," said Williams.

"I wouldn't mind a drop of rain this week as he really wants the ground as close to unraceable as it gets.

"His best form is over trips a lot shorter, but I've always thought he could step up in distance in time and he shouldn't have any problem staying this weekend.

"At fancy prices, he could be quite an interesting runner."
