Former Arkle winner Forpadydeplasterer will face just two rivals when he makes his seasonal reappearance in the Star "Best For Racing Coverage" Chase at Punchestown on Thursday.
Thomas Cooper's charge proved himself among the very best over two miles the year after winning the 2009 Arkle, although he could only finish second in the Queen Mother, Melling and Punchestown Champion Chases.
His last run was in the rescheduled King George in January, where he was pulled-up and trainer Tom Cooper reported him to have returned to his County Kerry stable under the weather and he was given a long time to recover.
Forpadydeplasterer tries the longer trip again, this time over two miles and seven furlongs, and he is receiving weight from Gordon Elliott's Roi du Mee and Paul Gilligan's Jadanli, who also returned from a considerable absence at Listowel recently.
"He seems to be over his problems and I'm very happy with him," said Cooper.
"He's straight enough for the run and giving me all the right signs.
"I haven't made any plans after tomorrow, we'll just see how he gets on."
