James Fanshawe is looking find a race in which Mac's Power can get his head in front before attempting to land another big handicap.
The five-year-old has gone close at Newbury, Ascot, and on Saturday in the Stewards' Cup this season, but is still searching an elusive success.
"He's come out of the race fine. He's just been a bit unlucky so far this year," said the Newmarket handler.
"Ideally he likes a bit more cut in the ground than there was at Goodwood but he still ran really well.
"We'll give him a bit of a break and just aim for some nice races in the autumn.
"His handicap mark has stayed the same (100) but in the big handicaps so much is dependant on the draw and the ground.
"It would just be nice to try and find a race that he could win next time.
"But, saying that, the handicaps is where the big money is.
"He's improving, but I'd really like to try and find a race he could go and win next time before going back for one of the big races."
