Red Cadeaux prepares for Emirates Melbourne Cup

No final decision has yet been made on whether Red Cadeaux has a prep-run ahead of his fourth run in the Emirates Melbourne Cup.
Ed Dunlop's chestnut thrives on international travel, and has settled in to the familiar surroundings of the Werribee quarantine centre since arriving at the weekend.
He cantered on the track on Wednesday morning, and Dunlop's assistant Robin Trevor-Jones is waiting to find out whether connections want to fit in a start in the Crown Golden Ale Caulfield Cup on October 18.
Red Cadeaux, who has finished second at Flemington twice before, ran disappointingly on his final British start in the September Stakes at Kempton.
Referring to the option of the Caulfield Cup, Trevor-Jones told the Herald Sun: "This is why he's come out (early), there's always this possibility.
"Whether he will or not, I'm not 100 per cent but that's up to the trainer and the owner.
"At the moment, we're training him for a Melbourne Cup but obviously if they're really seriously considering going for a Caulfield Cup, we'd have to start doing some sharper work.
"He's done a canter today, he's done everything as he normally does here."
