Cirrus Des Aigles is on the road to recovery with trainer Corine Barande-Barbe targeting a fourth victory in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp before a likely return to Ascot for the Qipco Champion Stakes.
The French superstar has not been seen in competitive action since suffering an injury when winning the Coronation Cup at Epsom in early June, his sixth victory at Group One level.
The eight-year-old won the Champion Stakes in 2011 and chased home Frankel and Farhh respectively in the last two renewals.
Barande-Barbe remains keen on another appearance on Champions Day, stopping off in Paris on October 4.
The trainer said: "He is very well and is back doing canters.
"Our plan is to run in the Prix Dollar and then hopefully go back to Ascot for the Champion Stakes."
