Jamesie edged out Gordon Lord Byron to win a thrilling renewal of the Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh.
The runner-up, returning from an absence of 63 days, travelled strongly for a long way under Joseph O'Brien and after finding racing room looked set to go on and pick his rival off inside the distance.
He was in front for a stride or two but the winner, sent off at 8/1, fought tenaciously to get his nose back in front on the line.
British raider Hamza was the 3/1 favourite and showed good speed against the stands' rail before taking third,.
