Nicky Richards has high hopes of landing the feature race on the third year of Perth's big Saturday appeal card with Gold Futures.
The Greystoke raider is bidding for a four-timer in the £20,000 Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer STV Appeal Summer Hurdle.
Richards said: "This horse has won twice at Market Rasen and once at Kelso and hasn't done a lot wrong since May.
"He's gone up a fair bit for last month at Market Rasen but I think he's still improving.
"We're meeting Donald McCain's horse (Gabrial The Great) on level weights and I'd say he is the one to beat. It's a nice prize for this time of year and our boy should handle the ground.
"He's progressive and in very good order - Brian Harding and him get on well together."
Langholm trainer James Ewart has Roc De Prince in the 2m 4f novices' handicap chase at 3.35 and the concluding Ecosteel Handicap Chase over the same trip.
Ewart's wife Briony explained: "We were simply trying to find the best opportunity for him and he's likely to go for the final race although we will probably get a fine for doubly declaring."
Irish trainer Stuart Crawford will be disappointed to leave empty-handed as he saddles four runners including course winners The Ice Factor (3.35) and Dr Moloney (4.05) who are both partnered by Richard Johnson.
And locally-based Lucinda Russell is set for a busy afternoon as the Arlary trainer has declared no fewer than ten runners.
