Leger pointers in Voltigeur

Several leading fancies for the Ladbrokes St Leger are set to clash in the Neptune Investment Management Great Voltigeur Stakes at York on Wednesday.
Kingston Hill, runner-up in the Investec Derby, heads the 14 horses left in the Group Two at the six-day confirmation stage.
However, Roger Varian's charge has also stood his ground for the Juddmonte International on the same card.
The John Gosden-trained Eagle Top, winner of the King Edward VII Stakes and fourth in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, as well as Kingfisher from Aidan O'Brien's stable, also remain in both races.
Sir Michael Stoute can choose from Gordon Stakes victor Snow Sky and Kings Fete as he bids to win this race for an eighth time.
Hartnell, winner of the Queen's Vase and Bahrain Trophy, could try to further enhance his Leger claims for trainer Mark Johnston.
As well as Kingfisher, O'Brien's other Voltigeur possibles are Granddukeoftuscany, Indian Maharajah and Red Rocks Point.
The latter is one of just two left in the race who do not hold entries in the St Leger. The other is Luca Cumani's Postponed.
Marzocco, Observational, Odeon and Red Galileo complete the Voltigeur list.
Preview Evening
Richard Fahey, David O'Meara, Niall Hannity and Mark Howard are on the panel for a special York Ebor Meeting preview night, to be held at the racecourse on Tuesday August 19.
