Nigel Twiston-Davies will make a decision over whether Master Of The Sea goes novice chasing or stays over the smaller obstacles after the Betfair Cash Out "Fixed Brush" Handicap Hurdle at Haydock on Saturday.

The six-year-old made tremendous progress last season, winning his first handicap off a mark of 92 at Hereford in December before finishing fourth in the Coral Cup off 142, an increase of 50lb.

He then went on to perform creditably in Grade One company when fourth behind At Fishers Cross at the Grand National meeting but Twiston-Davies is still in two minds over what to do and whether he is competitive this weekend will have a big bearing.

"The plan is for him to go to Haydock this weekend," said the Gloucestershire handler. "I'm not sure if he'll go over fences after this, I suppose it will depend on how he gets on."
